It turns out Goddard Memorial State Park knows how to turn up.
A video of Rhode Island resident Mary Halsey rapping along to Missy Elliott's 2002 song, "Work It" has amassed more than 7.6 million views online. One of those viewers happened to be Elliott herself, who took to Twitter and Instagram to share the video and praise her "funky white sister."
Between Halsey's use of the shofar and her impeccable rap skills, this is a karaoke legend who knows how to put on one helluva performance.
Taking to the mic, Halsey introduces herself as "Missy's funky white sister," before declaring it's her "second exclusive" and "Goddard Park's Cool Cat Karaoke." With its reverse lyrics and quick tempo, "Work It" is not an easy song to master by any means, but rest assured, Miss Halsey is no amateur karaoke-goer.
People on Twitter were equally impressed with Halsey's performance.
