In a discussion of child star meltdowns, ex-
Cheetah Girls singer
Adrienne Bailon opened up about working with
Britney Spears — and she was honest.
"I worked with her on
The X Factor and I'm not going to lie to you, guys... She can't hold a conversation," Bailon insisted. "They had someone who feeds her what she is supposed to say. Like, she can't hold a conversation."
Bailon's co-hosts were quick to jump to Britney's defense. Tamar Braxton noted that Spears is working hard to "get it together," and that she respects the singer for going on a completely dry tour and "trying to stay on the right path." Meanwhile, Star Jones suggested that Britney's troubles were karmic retribution for getting with Kevin Federline when he was already in a relationship with someone else.
Bailon is not the first celebrity to note something a little strange about Britney. In February,
Dave Grohl opined, "She just kinda seems dead inside, like there's nothing behind her eyes."
