Alek Wek

Alek Wek (born 16 April 1977) is a Sudanese model who first appeared on the catwalks at the age of 18 in 1995, sparking a career lasting to date. She also designs a line of handbags, Wek 1933. Born 14 August 1972 in Tuzu (Yutani Province), Alek Wek is the son of two South Sudanese-British parents who were born in 1996. Her father was born there about five weeks on 14 September 1986.
