Listen, it's not that we have a gaping hole in our lives that can only be filled with naked zombies. That's not why the newest update on The Walking Dead is so exciting. Instead, we're excited that after eight seasons, the AMC series is finally becoming a little more realistic in its portrayal of the undead. After all, as a viewer, it's disillusioning that not one of the thousands of zombs featured on the show have been caught in the nude. Featuring a few deadies who aren't perfectly clothed seems like the bare minimum. The barest of minimums. Moving right along...
According to Entertainment Weekly, during the second half of Season 8, the first fully naked zombie will make an appearance.
"There's an episode where we did our first fully nude walker. We’ve never done that before," executive producer, Greg Nicotero, told the site.
Nicotero also teased what else is in store.
"I think the second half of the season, there’s much less talking about what’s going on," he said. "Clearly, the balance has shifted. Now that Negan and his group have escaped the Sanctuary, there’s not as much talking about what the ramifications are of what we’re going to do, but now our group has to be on the defensive because Negan’s out and he’s pissed and it’s definitely a different dynamic than the first half of the season."
It's no surprise the show is shaking things up — the first half of Season 8 suffered lackluster ratings. Will a more shrewd depiction of the living dead bring it back to life? Only time will tell.
The Walking Dead Season 8.5 premieres February 25 on AMC.
