Ariana Grande Responds to Ex-Boyfriend's Cheating Accusations: 'I Will Never Be Any Man's Press Opportunity'

(Getty Images)Aussie YouTube star Jai Brooks marked what would have been his one year anniversary with performer Ariana Grande with an epic Twitter rant early Monday morning, claiming that the singer had broken his heart by cheating on him with The Wanted's Nathan Sykes.

"Yes I was cheated on. Yes it does suck. Yes I was left for another man. And this happens everyday to so many people of every age, gender, race. I happen to be one of those people and I'm in a situation where I am constantly reminded of it every day," Brooks begins his 669 word personal essay, in which he goes on to wish Sykes and Grande a happy future together and pleads with fans to stop asking questions about their relationship.

"She may not respond to this post, may ignore it, may deny it or may own up to it, she is going to do what's best for her and do what she thinks is right, which is what I'm doing, doing what I think is the best for me- I hope you can respect that," Brooks insists. "Please stop the endless questions to me and move on with me and let's put everything behind us."

Grande did respond, although probably not as Brooks had hoped. In a series of tweets Monday morning, she hinted that her ex had attempted to blackmail her for publicity reasons.

"Woke up this morning in complete and utter shock... I guess I shouldn't be so surprised," Grande tweeted. "You said to me if I didn't come back to you, you'd make me look bad to the entire world... I'm no longer afraid of you or your lies anymore. I'm going to be the lady my mother raised and carry myself with class and dignity... But I will never be any man's press opportunity."

"Girls... RESPECT YOURSELVES. Keep your head held high and speak only kind words. Know your truth... no one can ever take that away from you," Grande added. "It's always ok to defend yourself. My fans know what kind of person I am. Never let any man discredit u or the values you were raised with. I'm finally happy. Words can't hurt me anymore."

Meanwhile, Grande's new boyfriend Nathan Sykes has yet to respond to the drama, which will undoubtedly help to boost interest in his duet with Grande, "Almost Is Never Enough." Funny how that works.
