It's a big day for Ariel Ticona Yanez and his family. Today, authorities expect to begin the rescue effort to pull Ariel Ticona Yanez and the other 32 miners out of the Copiapo mine. Rescue attempts for the trapped Chilean miners, including Ariel Ticona Yanez, will begin within hours.
A mining accident trapped these workers below ground on August 5th. The men have been trapped for over two months now. Today is the 69th day underground for the trapped miners. Officials hope to pull the first miner out to freedom today, and the rest over the next 2-3 days. The miners are 2,300 feet down and will be rescued in a thin metal basket or cylinder.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ariel Ticona Yanez and all of the men and their families.More on the trapped Chilean Miners:
