Apparently Swift has set up the brunette pop star with another shaggy-haired dude:
Austin Mahone. (!!!!!) So what if Mahone is only 17 to her 21? He opened for her tour last year and they are now "seeing each other," according to unnamed sleuthy sources (via
Us Weekly).
Insiders say the budding couple wants to keep the relationship quiet for now, but they were seen at the Beats Music concert this week and "sneaked out separately" before getting in the same car. Though that does make it seem like they're dating, other sources say they're just hanging out and being single together — no romance. They're instead "really good friends and have a lot of fun together." SIGH. But, still, nice try, Taylor Swift.
Gomez was last
seen on a Segway with the Biebs in early January, though things between them seemed to fizzle out fast. Just weeks later he (allegedly) egged a house, was arrested for a DUI, then flew a model to Panama. Hopefully now that Mahone's in the picture, she'll only have time for one male pop star with great hair.
The "Come and Get It" singer recently told
Seventeen that she's looking for a dude who's not scared of an independent woman. "I actually talked to
Katy Perry about guys who are intimidated by strong girls," she said. "I haven't found someone yet who could understand my lifestyle, support it, love me through it, and not be threatened by it. It's hard. I do think I might scare some guys, because I'm like, 'I want to change the world! I have dreams! What do you want to do?' But I only know how to be me."
Hopefully Mahone is the secure man of her dreams. Or at least ensures she doesn't run back to Bieber — though it's a long run to Panama.
