The Most Memorable Moments of the 2014 People's Choice Awards

(Getty Images)The People's Choice Awards are kind of fun because you can predict who's going to win based on who decided to attend. Also, jokes! This year's awards were hosted by 2 Broke Girls' Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, and therefore incrementally dirtier than in previous years (groping gags!). Here are the moments we'll remember from the 2014 People's Choice Awards.

1. When there were 3 boob jokes in the first 10 minutes.
The show opened with a 2 Broke Girls-themed skit in which Max and Caroline serve the nominees (Ian Somerhalder drew the screams, Ian Ziering the laughs) and no fewer than three boob jokes, including a quip about Max's "Golden Globes." Zing! There was also a bit about Brad Paisley and Heidi Klum confusing Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs for waitresses in real life, but Brad got nervous and asked for "flies" instead of "fries." It's okay, Brad: You're not the one who should be embarrassed right now.

The 40th Annual People's Choice Awards - Backstage And Audience2. When Justin Timberlake won favorite album and Ellen DeGeneres attempted to beat him to the podium.
When Justin did make it to the mic, he thanked Ellen for “all the personal inspiration and the cookies.” He also thanked his parents, his team, the fans, and Jessica Biel: “I’d like to thank my beautiful wife for teaching me patience and the little things like just putting the dishes in the dishwasher, it goes a long way. Fellas, you’re welcome.”

3. When Stana Katic graciously thanked Castle fans for their unwavering support before introducing Sara Bareilles.
She basically hijacked the show to express her love. Aww. Also, Sara Bareilles sounded lovely and did not show up in a kimono!

4. When Drew Barrymore presented an award for favorite comedic actor to Adam Sandler and made a fat joke about herself (she's pregnant).
"Ellen DeGeneres just told me I was fat, so, I’m not — It was a joke, it was really funny," Drew quipped, somehow revealing that she has a fetish for fanny packs before handing a Waterford crystal trophy to Adam Sandler. In his acceptance speech, he read a piece of fan mail that opened with the line "Dear Mr. Sandler, you do movies by far the goodest for me" and closed with "Signed, Drew Barrymore." Then he said Drew looked like she'd lost weight.

5. When Kat and Beth did an extended Twitter karaoke sketch.
“Baby Got Back” was involved. As was twerking. Well, Britney thought it was funny.

Some writer out there thinks the "Once you go black..." line is the height of comedy, I guess. Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev won, and their acceptance speech was just as scripted as Moore and Akerman's presentation but better acted. No wonder the fans want these two back together.

7. When Britney pretended to be surprised by her favorite pop artist win.
"Wow! I was not expecting this!" Britney exclaimed. But that couldn't have been true, since there's no way she would've showed if she hadn't won. Also pretending to be surprised: Kaley Cuoco and Chris Colfer.

8. When this happened (that's Brad Paisley with the guitar, in case you couldn't tell).

9. When Kaley Cuoco couldn't deliver an acceptance speech without mentioning the fact that she just got maaaaarried.
Her husband winked at her as she described her PCA win as the "second best" thing that had happened to her in 2014 ("The first was marrying you, baby! I love you!”). I'm just surprised she didn't ask the crowd if they'd seen her wedding video yet.

10. When Robert Downey Jr. wore a leather jacket underneath his blazer.
And he's cool enough that this might actually become a trend, which is terrible. Thanks a lot, RDJ.

11. Stephen Colbert's pre-recorded video message.
The only winner who did not attend also happened to be the funniest.

12. When Jennifer Hudson won the favorite humanitarian award for her work through the Julian D. King Gift Foundation.
"It's one thing to be a celebrity and have so much power — there's only so much we can have — but it means nothing if we're not making a difference, helping someone else, trying to change a life," an emotional Hudson insisted.
