After months of anticipation, the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is finally here. It's pretty epic and awesome and glorious and any other glowing adjective I can think of to describe the thing. To put it simply, the trailer rules. In the clip, we get everything from sweeping landscapes (Rey's training ground) to our first look at Carrie Fisher to a heartbreaking line delivered by Luke Skywalker (if you've seen the trailer already, you know the one).
Sadly, we'll have to wait until December for The Last Jedi to hit theaters. For now, if you need us, we'll be sitting in a corner watching this on repeat, and marveling at the trailer's most GIF-able moments.
1. Let's start with the landscape....
Honestly, the sweeping shots of the island where Luke Skywalker trains Rey is hands-down the most aesthetically pleasing part of the clip. The sunset, the aerial views of the island... Not a bad place to learn how to handle a light saber, no?
2. Our first look at Carrie Fisher in her final Princess Leia appearance.
The actress completed filming her Last Jedi role before her death back in December 2016. Knowing this is the last Carrie Fisher appearance is making us feel the feels.
3. The dramatic red smoke from an Empire fleet.
Well, we're assuming it's an Empire fleet because of the red smoke. AT-AT also seem to make an appearance in the background. Maybe they're part of a rebel fleet?
4. Sexy Poe Dameron is still making our hearts melt.
BB-8 is there, too. Combined they make our minds and bodies want to explode with happiness.
5. Luke Skywalker's heartbreaking moment.
Luke stands between the light and the darkness as he delivers the trailer's most buzzed about line:
But what does he mean by this?! Certainly, he doesn't think the Jedi should just end, right? RIGHT?!
