With Sunday night's series finale of Game of Thrones, the saga of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa and Arya Stark, and so many others finally came to an end. The watch is over and now all that is left to do is rewatch the series over and over until the end of time — or at least until George R.R. Martin finally publishes
his conclusion to A Song of Ice and Fire. Until then, we have many deaths to mourn, new beginnings to consider, and inevitable revisionist histories to read over and ponder.
All Season 8 controversies aside, there will probably never be a show with as much cultural impact as Game of Thrones. We have showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the writing staff, George R.R. Martin, and the actors, who brought these richly complex characters to life, to thank for that.
**Warning, major spoilers ahead**
In the end, Daenerys Targaryen met her fate, and the Iron Throne melted away into non-existence thanks to Drogon. In a surprisingly turn of events, Bran the Broken was crowned the ruler of Westeros. It seems that peace in the kingdoms was achieved after all, at least for now. Sure the series could have done a better job tying up loose ends and giving loyal fans the payoffs they deserved, but such criticism is best saved for another day. In the meantime, let's move away from all those Season 8 redo petitions and cries for Justice for Dany and turn our attention to our final Game of Thrones trivia.
