But we're getting a bit too sappy for our liking. So let's turn our attention to something a bit more uplifting and challenging for the brain, like Game of Thrones final season trivia! And while you're here, read an excerpt from our Game of Thrones Episode 2 recap:
"Just hours before the Night King's army reached Winterfell, there was but one thing on Tormund Giantsbane's mind: Brienne of Tarth — or rather Ser Brienne of Tarth. In a heartwarming ceremony, Jaime knighted Brienne with the power of his own knighthood, and the smile on Brienne's face was enough to make you forget (just for a second) that at least half of the people in the room probably wouldn't make it through the first 24 hours of the battle ahead.
When Jaime arrived at Winterfell, Daenerys was ready to put his head on a pole. She publicly recalled all the torturous things the Targaryen family discussed doing to the Kingslayer once they finally caught him. In other words, she wasn't interested in anything Jaime had to offer. If it weren't for Brienne of Tarth, who stood up in front of Dany, Jon Snow, Sansa, and Tyrion to vouch for him, it would have been the end of his story.
Instead, Brienne explained the group all the ways Jaime had indirectly benefitted them. Sansa, for example. wouldn't have had Brienne as a one-woman bodyguard if it weren't for Jaime, who had protected Brienne before. Daenerys begrudgingly allowed Jaime to stay at Winterfell untouched, and later, Jaime told Brienne he would be proud to battle under her leadership despite his lame hand."
