If you didn't know, today is our dear President's 72nd birthday. The reigning queen of social media Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend decided to celebrate the occasion the only way they knew how: by donating $288,000 to the ACLU.
Teigen took to where else but Twitter to announce the couple's hefty donation to the ACLU, an organization, "committed to defending the rights and humanity of these vulnerable families," per their joint statement.
The cookbook author also noted the Trump administration's "cruel" and "anti-family" policies against immigrant families who are "being ripped apart."
"John and I are outraged to see and hear the horror stories of immigrant families seeking asylum and refuge in America being ripped apart due to the inhumane policies of the Trump administration."
According to the note post, the ACLU received a donation of $72,000 from each member of the Legend-Teigen family. Between Chrissy, John, and their two young children Luna Simone and Miles Theodore, the total amounted to $288,000.
Throughout his presidency, Teigen has routinely tweeted criticisms of Trump to her 10.6 million followers. The President blocked the model on Twitter last summer.
