The 'SNL' actor has gone on the record to call the reports about his arrest "egregiously misstated."

Alec Baldwin says he did not punch someone over a parking dispute, despite multiple reports.

On Friday, November 2, the actor was reportedly arrested after a physical altercation with another male, Wojciech Cieszowski. Baldwin's accuser claimed the actor struck him when he went to pay the parking meter for a space they'd both pursued.

Per Page Six, "A Baldwin relative was holding a parking spot for the actor, but another driver pulled in first, cops said. An incensed Baldwin, 60, socked the 49-year-old victim in the head while he was feeding the meter, cops said. The victim was hospitalized, but escaped serious injury."

Baldwin was held in custody after the incident for "pending charges of assault." After his release, the Mission: Impossible – Fallout actor hit Twitter to clarify what happened. He claimed reports that he punched anyone over a parking spot were false and that he believed the story was fabricated for the sake of clickbait entertainment.

"Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today’s story," Baldwin wrote. "However, the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false. I wanted to go on the record stating as much. I realize that it has become a sport to tag people w as many negative charges and defaming allegations as possible for the purposes of clickbait entertainment. Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos, it doesn’t make the statements true."

According to TMZ, Baldwin may have a solid defense thanks to surveillance footage of the parking lot. While the clip is grainy and somewhat inscrutable, it did capture the fight between the two parties, and it's difficult to conclude that it was Baldwin who started the brawl. It could be dismissed as mutual combat — an incident in which both parties entered the fight with mutual consent — which isn't considered a crime under New York law.

This isn't the first time Baldwin — whose portrayal of Trump on SNL has been warmly received — has had a run-in with the law. In 2012, he was arrested for allegedly punching paparazzi, and in 2014, he was arrested and cited for riding his bike in the wrong direction in the streets of Manhattan.
