Richard Fagan, a Nashville singer and songwriter has been charged with the death of Thomas Oteri, 69. Oteri was the father of former Saturday Night Live cast member, Cheri Oteri.
Oteri was Fagan's roommate, manager and music publisher. He was found stabbed to death inside their Nashville home on Sunday night.
According to police, Fagan and Oteri had gotten into a fight inside their home around 9 p.m. on Saturday. Shorty after, Fagan was arrested for DUI in another area of the city. He received a bond to get out of jail, and was released to his bondsman's office at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.
After hearing about the fight, a mutual friend of the roommates dropped by their home, but when Oteri did not answer authorities were called, and the body was discovered.
Fagan wrote two hit songs, "Be My Baby Tonight and "Sold," both for John Michael Montgomery. He is being held without bond.
