Chloë Grace Moretz is going to be a "Part of Your World" soon, and we almost can't believe someone so perfect for the role of Ariel has been cast.
That's right: Universal Studios' live-action The Little Mermaid film has found their starring mer-lady, and it's 18-year-old Moretz, reportsVariety.
The Hans Christian Andersen classic, best known for Disney's 1989 cartoon adaptation, follows the life of Ariel, a mermaid with big ambition and a sobering case of leg envy, as she explores the walking world above sea level. Ariel is known as one of the most famous Disney princesses, and is beloved for her sense of wonder, intriguingly strife-ridden love life, and bright red mane. Now that we compare the two, we must say that Moretz has similar features to the redhead.
There's no word yet on an expected release date, as the film is still in the writing stage. It is set to be penned by Love Actually's Richard Curtis. Meanwhile, Moretz is hard at work on Seth Rogen's Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising — a far cry from the wholesome project she's about to surf into.
At this point, though, all we're wondering is who's going to nab the role of Prince Eric, Disney's resident royal heartthrob and indirect purveyor of limbs.
