There are, thankfully, no mentions of Amanda Bynes
in Drake's new cover interview
, as the rapper has somehow managed to avoid talking about the former child star for months now. But he does open up about another tabloid-friendly story: His ongoing beef with Chris Brown
"I don't want my name to be synonymous with that guy's name," Drake insists. "I really don't. I wish we could sit down, just like you and me are right now, and talk it out man-to-man. But that's not going to happen. I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to back down."
"It's embarrassing, the amount of media coverage," Drake admitted. "Two rappers fighting over the woman [Rihanna]. He's not even a rapper, but still, it's the last way you want your name out there. It distracts from the music. But he's made me the enemy, and that's the way it's gonna stay, I guess."
Then Drake revealed that he actually thinks the entire situation could get much worse — rather cryptically, at that. "If I think about it too much, I feel it wrapping around my foot, like I get a feeling it could end really badly," he stated. Asked to elaborate, he only said, "Like, it gets really dark."
For the time being, however, Chris Brown is on a positivity kick, as he seems to think he can do his part to end gang violence through music videos.
Perhaps now that Drake has said he'd like to settle it all like human beings, Brown will rise to the challenge. Or not.
