Christian Bale is not mincing words.

During the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, the actor accepted the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role as Dick Cheney in the political film, Vice, which is based on the former VP's life.

Bale started his acceptance speech with a heartfelt thanks to his wife of nearly 20 years, Sibi Blazic.

Then, he got honest.

"Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration to play this role," he said, and followed up with a joke about director Adam McKay's decision to cast him.

"He said, ‘I have to find somebody that can be absolutely charisma free and reviled by everybody, so we wanted Christian Bale.'"

"I'll be cornering the market on charisma free a**h**e," the actor said. "What do you think, Mitch McConnell next?"
