If you are a child of the '90s, you will undoubtably remember three things about the Disney animated film, Mulan. 1. The film's titular character was a badass. 2. Eddie Murphy was the comedic and confident dragon Mushu. 3. Pre-"Dirrty" Christina Aguilera got us all emo with her Mulan soundtrack contribution, "Reflection."
Now that Disney has announced that a live-action remake of the 1998 film is in the works, we thought it was time to revisit the heartfelt ballad (which was originally performed in the film by actress Lea Salonga). The music video depicted an uncharacteristically short-haired Aguilera belting it out in a Chinese garden while fondling majestic white doves — clearly, 1998 was a good year for music videos.
Though it has been 17 years since the release of "Reflection," the lyrics have always stayed us with: "Whooooo is that girl I seeeeee?"
My how time flies.
