baby was born right after he pitched last night, and judging by his performance, it definitely seems like he had baby, not baseball, on the brain while the Phillies played against the Colorado Rockies. He left the stadium and rushed to the hospital where their first child, a boy, was born. Sources say Hamels had no clue his wife was in labor while he pitched, and, luckily, he got out just in time so he didn't miss much of the action in the delivery room.
The Phillies lost the game 5-4 in the second game of the National League Division Series. It's unclear if, and when, Hamels will pitch again in the series.
