. Jay's claim is that people will confuse the club in the DR as something he owns, and that's not cool.
The name is baseball-related, and refers to the feat of nabbing 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a single season. So, you might think Ortiz has a greater stake in the name, but he's only stolen 10 bases in his entire career...
Jay-Z has opened 5 more 40/40 clubs since launching the first in New York two years ago, and he wants to make sure no one thinks a 7th island establishment has been made.
