Jay-Z and David Ortiz Disagree About More Than Baseball

Jay-Z, a die-hard Yankees fan, and Red Sox player David Ortiz will not only continue to root for opposing teams this baseball season, they'll also go head-to-head in court it looks like. The rapper is suing for $5 million, claiming Big Papi's Forty-Forty club in the Dominican Republic is too similar in name to Jay's nightclub chain 40/40.

The rap mogul is suing for alleged trademark infringement, unjust enrichment and false designation of sponsorship, according to E! Online. Jay's claim is that people will confuse the club in the DR as something he owns.

The name is baseball-related, and refers to the feat of nabbing 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a single season. So, you might think Ortiz has a greater stake in the name, but he's only stolen 10 bases in his entire career...

Jay-Z has opened 5 more 40/40 clubs since launching the first in New York two years ago, and he wants to make sure no one thinks a 7th island establishment has been made.
