In an Instagram post on Friday afternoon, Hough shared a side-by-side comparison of Dirty Dancing's iconic lift scene in the lake, along with he and Irwin's accomplishment. The DWTS alum was clearly proud of his partner, posting the sweet caption below along with the pic. It warms our hearts every time the two express the strength of their friendship...also, this is damn impressive.
"What an honor to pay homage to this iconic dance film," Hough wrote. "Nobody puts Bindi in the corner. #teamcrikey #timeofmylife @bindisueirwin"
Hough and Irwin are undoubtedly the most emotionally charged duo of this season, choosing to dedicate past routines to the tragic death of Irwin's late father and TV personality, Steve Irwin.
Their dance to The Police's "Every Breath You Take" gave Irwin cause to share her grief, and the fact that she still doesn't feel that her father is truly gone.
But with the introduction of fun throwbacks like the one above, it seems Irwin's mind is wholly on the competition.
As a matter of fact, in a blog post on TV Guide, Hough shared that none other than Jennifer Grey (star of the original Dirty Dancing and twisty pretzel lifty OG) stopped by the studio just to help the two with their routine.
"It feels great to be back with my baby! Pun intended!" Hough wrote. "We have the rumba this week to Dirty Dancing. Normally, we can do our own versions of these dances, but they told us they want us to reflect the original as possible...
"And before you ask, yes, Jennifer Grey is giving us tips! She's actually stopping by rehearsals today to check us out. We can't disappoint her!"
In conclusion, today in hashtags we hope go viral:
