On Thursday, the 17-year-old congratulated her friend on his recent Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography, emphasizing how koalified he truly is for the honor:
"Wishing @derekhough and the entire @dancingabc family the biggest congratulations for the Emmy nominations," she wrote. "Incredibly blessed to have been a part of the magic that is created on the show. Derek, you inspire people all over the world every day through what you create, thank you for letting me be a part of the journey last year."
Hough, 31, also expressed his gratitude for the nom, thanking Irwin for making it possible:
"WOW!!! Thank you so much to the #Emmys for the nomination! Always such an honor!!" he captioned. "I also want to thank my beautiful partner @bindisueirwin for inspiring me and allowing me to create for her. It was a such a special season:) I want to give a HUGE shout out to the @dancingabc production team for always bringing the choreographers ideas to life. Dream team, I share this nomination with all of you. Thank you once again @televisionacad for the amazing honor."
If Hough was to win this Emmy, it would make his third. He has previously received two for the same title.
Irwin's success on the show was a feat of her own as well as an ongoing tribute to her father, acclaimed animal expert Steve Irwin, who passed in 2006.
Congratulations to both stars, whose impressive DWtS run will not soon be forgotten.
