star Dianna Agron
recently launched a website called You Me & Charlie
, and now she's using that site to show her support for gay youth and rights.
In a blog post, Agron shared the story of how other children used to tease her for being Jewish. She wrote
, "This is the closest I have ever come to being able to relate to the experience of growing up being gay, and hardly knowing anyone that is like you. Or perhaps not knowing anyone at all. There are words and names that one might hear that would be far worse than, ‘latke girl!’ I cannot imagine the strength it requires to endure the constant torture one might be subject to.”
From there Dianna segued into talking about the Trevor Project's Trevor Live! benefit, which the actress attended on December 4 with co-stars Amber Riley
, Chris Colfer
, and Darren Criss
. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth.
"We can always LET LOVE IN. Every single day," Agron finished. "If you feel trapped, hurt or confused and need some guidance, THE TREVOR PROJECT
is there for you."
