Alec Baldwin's on point performance as Donald Trump has been tremendous on the last two seasons of SNL. In his time so accurately mimicking Trump, Baldwin has amassed a polluted sea of knowledge on the former reality TV star. Naturally, then, he intends to put it to good use with a book.
A book, you say? Does Baldwin have the inside scoop? Does he know how Trump ticks (shivers)? Unlikely, considering a mere two percent of society are narcissists. Instead, Baldwin will be doing what he does best — satirizing an already ridiculous presidency.
According to Rolling Stone, the actor will partner with Kurt Andersen on a special new project, a book entitled You Can't Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump. Penguin Press made the announcement Wednesday.
Yes, this is real. As a matter of fact, fans can expect to hear Baldwin narrate the audiobook as the Trump we've come to know on SNL.
Election seasons are always a boon for sketch shows like SNL, which can add levity to even the most dire of situations. According to Variety, the show's viewership is up 22 percent for the '15-16 season compared to previous years, its highest ratings in more than two decades.
Expect Baldwin's Trump book to release November 7, 2017.
What a time to be alive.
