It’s the moment all #CaptainSwan shippers have been waiting for.
The May 7th musical extravaganza just raised the stakes, Oncers! Apart from belting their merry little hearts out, Emma and Hook will also tie the knot on Once Upon a Time.
In true royal form, Emma will don a rather dramatic bridal gown complete with an ornate veil and a subdued bouquet of roses. Yup, this family sure goes big when it comes to their sartorial choices.
Before we get ahead of ourselves from excitement, there are still some grievous matters at hand. Let’s not forget that Emma still has to deal with her prophesied death and has to go head-to-head with this season’s big bad, the Black Fairy.
“Emma knows the Final Battle is in front of her, but she, in this moment, is brave and is not going to let the troubles of whatever they’re dealing with get in the way of her happiness,” explained Kitsis. “She’s truly following her mother’s advice to live her life.”
Okay, so does that mean that Emma will survive the Black Fairy’s throes and defy the prophecy?
“She either dies, or she doesn’t die, or something else happens,” added Horowitz rather evasively.
Perhaps, Emma and Hook’s wedding will parallel Snow and Charming’s? Maybe there will be a big interruption courtesy of the Black Fairy? Well, whatever goes down, we can all expect the Final Battle to be quite a doozy.
“In our minds, the Final Battle is probably not what you think it is,” Kitsis stated. “Like any good battle, sometimes it’s not a battle in the literal sense of a fight.”
The ultimate sacrifice has proven to be a number of things on OUAT, so how Emma chooses to deal with the prophecy remains a mystery. “It is a battle, it is different than the ones we’ve seen before, and it is very personal to Emma,” added Horowitz.
