It's a widely accepted truth that everyone loves Emma Stone.
The actress can do no wrong and, clearly, Jennifer Lawrence totally understands that. Thanks to Woody Harrelson's immaculate introductions skills, Lawrence and Stone struck up a wonderful friendship. Harrelson first starred opposite Stone in Zombieland and later in The Hunger Games franchise alongside Lawrence.
“She texted me that she got my number from Woody,” Lawrence revealed in the new issue of Vanity Fair. “I replied, ‘F— off!’ And we’ve been really good friends ever since.”
In fact, both Lawrence and Stone text each other every day! Their friendship is a breath of fresh air, considering they are probably up for the same movie roles in an industry that has no problem pitting women against each other.
“She may not even know this, but there was definitely a time early on where I was like, 'OH HEY MY EGO IS GOING NUTS SHE’S GO GREAT AND VIBRANT AND TALENTED I’M SCREWED I’LL NEVER WORK AGAIN GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD,'” Lawrence added. “Then I chilled the f— out — and remembered we’re completely different and there is room for everyone, even if it’s an industry that doesn’t really seem to support that idea up front.”
Hey, there's nothing wrong with a little healthy competition, especially if it gets these ladies to spill out their best performances. In fact, Lawrence feels nothing but mad love for Stone, especially after watching Stone's forthcoming, critically acclaimed film La La Land.
“If I wasn’t her biggest fan, I would’ve Tonya Harding’d her in the kneecaps,” said Lawrence.
