Cruella is coming, unlike you've ever seen her.
Following Disney's 1961 animated hit and subsequent '96 and '00 live action remakes, there will be yet another film — this time with 27-year-old Emma Stone at its helm.
Cruella won't be another tale of the dalmatians, but instead an origin story of the fur-obsessed villain, likely illustrating the story of how she came to be so fabulously heinous.
While rumors of the casting have been swirling for months, Stone's role was recently confirmed in a press release.
The Arizonian actress has completed filming for comedy musical La La Land with Ryan Gosling, and is wrapping up sports biography Battle of the Sexes. She'll also be reprising her voice-over role as Eep in The Croods 2.
Cruella enthusiasts shouldn't expect the film for another several years. In the mean time, Glenn Close's Cruella is worth a re-watch.
