Earlier this month, rumors of a Ghostbusters reboot with an all-female cast
began to circulate the Internet, and like all rumors that circulate the Internet this one was met with plenty of detractors. Thankfully, Bill Murray, Dr. Peter Venkman himself, made such whining irrelevant by putting his stamp of approval on the potential project.
"It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor," Murray told Access Hollywood
. "No, it’s a grand idea, I don’t know who they’re talking about, but it’s a good idea, I would watch it!
But Murray didn't stop at simply giving the reboot his blessing. When pressed at a screening of his upcoming film, he told the Toronto Star
that his St. Vincent
costar Melissa McCarthy should land a role, along with three other actresses with which we're in total agreement.
"Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God she's funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."
As always, Billy Murray makes a lot of sense.
