Blake Lively may have spent July 4th weekend frolicking in the water with Taylor Swift and her squad, but she'll always be tighter with her OG besties. That's right, people, the cast of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reunited on Friday, and they are tighter than ever. The ladies have proven their love and adoration for each other over the years, often posting some seriously cute photos on social media.
American Ferrera snapped an adorable picture with Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn and posted it for the rest of the world to fawn and cry over. In the photo, Lively is sticking her finger up Ferrera's nose, while Tamblyn has her hand placed on Ferrer's teeth. Bledel is the only one behaving herself in true Rory Gilmore fashion. Oy vey, ladies! You're too cute to handle!
Since their movie hit the big screen back in 2005, the four actresses have remained very close. (Yeah, that's 11 years of friendship!) They reunited once more for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 in 2008, and recently Lively teased about a possible third installment.
“There’s a strong chance there might be a third. The four of us are still best friends. To be able to create something together again has always been a dream of ours,” Lively said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“But it would have to be something that really made sense,” Lively added. “If you wait this long to do a third movie, it needs to honor the story and the legacy. You deal with different things [at this age]. So we wouldn’t be making a movie for 16-year-olds again. We’d be making a movie trusting that our audience grew up with us, and I think that would be really interesting to explore.”
Ferrera has also discussed the possibility of a third film. In a 2015 interview with People, the actress stated: “It’s actually very much in the works. There’s a fifth book, and what’s wonderful about it is, and the series to begin with, is that it’s really raw and honest about friendship and how hard it can be and how it changes as you grow up. We love each other, and we love this series, and we are so proud of the work that we did together that it would be wonderful to come back at do another one.”
Oh, can we please make this happen!?
