The new emojis are part of a new update set for a 2017 release.

The Unicode Consortium has published a list of 51 emojis set to be part of the Unicode 10 update in 2017. The emojis were proposed by third-parties to the consortium over the past year, and include emojis depicting a breastfeeding woman, a woman wearing a hijab, a zombie, and vampire. Clearly, the new emojis are a sign of our times.   

Among the many interesting emojis included is the "shocked face with exploding head" emoji, which, to be honest, would have been really, really usefully to have access to this past Tuesday and Wednesday:

It's important to note that although the emojis have been approved, the Unicode Consortium can still modify or not include certain of these emojis in the final update. Thoughts?
