Nickelodeon continues to be good to the kids of the '80s and '90s. First there was the return of all our favorite Nick shows with the nostalgic programming block, The Splat. And now Double Dare will officially make a comeback as part of the show's 30th anniversary celebrations.
EW reveals that Nickelodeon is planning on reviving the slimy game show at San Diego Comic-Con for one night only (July 22). What makes the news even sweeter is that Marc Summers will return to host the live edition of the game. If you can't make it down to Comic-Con, the Splat's Facebook page will stream the event starting at 9:30 p.m. PT.
"Thirty years later, people still stop me on the street every day and tell me playing Double Dare is the one thing they wish they could have done growing up,” Summers told EW.
Since we're excited to see the green slime, the hamster wheel, and all the physical challenge gadgets in action once again, let's quickly remind ourselves why we loved this show so much:
No word yet on whether Robin Marella will return to help Marc announce all those physical challenges.
