Frank Ocean's high-flying year came to a jolting end New Year's Eve, when police pulled him over and cited the artist for possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended license, and speeding.
the musician was stopped by police in Mono County, California, while driving his BMW 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Cops reportedly approached his car, smelled marijuana, and then found some of the green stuff in his possession.
The Mono County Sheriff’s Department released a statement saying: “As the deputy approached the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana came from inside the car.” While Ocean has been rumored to have a medical marijuana license, the artist was nevertheless cited. Neither he nor his camp have commented on the incident.
Ocean, who was briefly detained by police, tweeted an Instagram
photo taken from the back of a patrol car. "Worst trip ever," he wrote as a caption. After having his license confiscated, Ocean was quickly released and driven home by an unidentified friend.
