doesn't have particularly fond things to say of his father, who left his mother Katonya Breaux Riley to raise her son alone in New Orleans when the singer was just 6 years old. He's probably feeling even less paternal love this week, as he revealed Tuesday night that his father is hoping to score a paycheck off the son he abandoned.
"Father wanna sue me for a million. Like I owe him back child support. Weak individual bought me a swiss knife at 6yrs old then dipped on me," Ocean tweeted, according to NME.
Though he eventually deleted the tweet — perhaps for legal reasons — Ocean added,
"i got his DNA though, maybe I inherited some of his karma too."
Unfortunately, Ocean's story isn't unique: Many a superstar has had to deal with long-absent family members emerging from the woodwork, hoping to cash in on the blood line. It won't be a surprise if Ocean's dad attempts to shop a story or two to the tabloids, but considering how little he interacted with his son, it's unlikely he'd have any interesting stories to tell.
