Gemma Arterton (Getty Images)Gemma Arterton is planning to cut back on her film roles so she and her 37-year-old spouse Stefano Catelli, whom she married in a low-key ceremony in Spain on June 5, can enjoy their first year of married life.
She said: “I love married life and I decided it was about time I took a break from filming and working abroad so we can spend more time together.”
However, the 24-year-old beauty will not take a break from acting completely.
Gemma has signed up to star in Henrik Ibsen’s
The Master Builder at London’s Almeida Theatre starting in November, and says she prefers treading the boards to shooting movies. She told the
Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I prefer working on stage, actually.”
Gemma has previously confessed she didn’t think she would ever get married and imagined a life filled with cats as she got older.
She said: “It takes you by surprise. I always thought I was going to end up an old spinster, with my cats and fur coats.”
