Will George Lopez Replace Donald Trump on 'The Celebrity Apprentice?'

The Mexican-American comedian is reportedly in talks with NBC.

I will build a great wall — and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me —and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.

Mmkay, Donald. Mmkay. But while you're off building your great, cheap, Mexico-sponsored wall, we'll be needing a replacement host for The Celebrity Apprentice. So you just, you know, enjoy your little campaign and let us handle that.

Our first choice? George Lopez, of course; Mexican-American comedian, actor and the same man who vowed that if Trump takes the 2016 presidency, "he won't have to worry about immigration, we'll all go back."

Irony at its finest.

Though the decision is still in early days, Lopez is said to be one of NBC's serious contenders, along with entrepreneurs like Mark Cuban and personalities like Martha Stewart.

Selecting Lopez for the position would indeed send a strong message to the real estate mogul, who NBC severed relations with after his claims that Mexico was "sending people [to the US] that have lots of problems...bringing drugs, and bringing crime, and their rapists."

He followed up these claims by citing non-existent statistics that the Latino population is more likely to rape than other ethnicities, rendering the below assumption unlikely.

On the bright side, he is getting what looks to be a good pet, so maybe that will calm him down.
