We're less than two weeks away from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and while the film is still being kept under wraps, at least one very important fan has seen the finished product and given his blessing.

According to director Gareth Edwards, he and George Lucas had a conversation about the movie after it was screened for the Star Wars creator.

“So two days ago we got to show George the movie, and we all had a phone call and I got to speak with him yesterday," Edwards said during a press conference over the weekend. "I don’t wanna put words into his mouth but I can honestly say that I can die happy now. He really liked the movie, so it meant a lot. To be honest, and no offense to anyone here, it was the most important review to me."

He added: "I will take that conversation to my grave. It was a real privilege. His opinion means the world to me."

While Edwards doesn't want to put words in Lucas' mouth, we think it's safe to assume the words were kind. The creator's opinion is added to a growing positive buzz around the film, which opens Dec. 16. Members of the press who've seen the roughly 28 minutes of advance footage report there's much to be excited about.
