In a night filled with big Hollywood stars, a lesser known writer delivered the best speech of the 2015 Oscars.

Graham Moore, who won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Imitation Game, used his time on stage to deliver a heartfelt message of self-acceptance.

"I tried to commit suicide at 16 and now I'm standing here," Moore revealed. "I would like for this moment to be for that kid out there who feels like she doesn’t fit in anywhere. Yes, you do. I promise you do. Stay weird. Stay different, and then when it's your turn and you are standing on this stage please pass the same message along."
