Heidi Montag shows off her new beach body in a self-designed bikini as she hosts the grand opening of the Liquid Pool Lounge at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. It is the first time the "The Hills" star and singer has been photographed in a bikini since undergoing 10 cosmetic procedures in one day late last year. The 23-year-old star underwent a mini brow lift, Botox in her brow and frownline area; a nose job revision; fat injections in cheeks, nasolabial folds and lips; chin reduction; neck liposuction; had her ears pinned back; a breast augmentation revision; liposuction on her waist, hips and inner and outer thighs; and a buttock augmentation. When was the last time you saw a "before" picture of Heidi Montag
, the Hills
reality star who is, sadly, best known for her glut of plastic surgery? Yesterday morning, the New York Times Style Section
served a hunk of bittersweet nostalgia when Montag's pre- and post-opp pix served to illustrate a seriously cruel truth: The plastic fembot created by Hollywood may soon be out of work.
“I think everyone either looks like a drag queen or a stripper,” Marcia Shulman, a Fox casting director, told the NYT
. Schulman is one of many Hollywood execs to note an about-face in the industry, where filmmakers are again pining for Old Hollywood's girl next door. But directors won't find too many Grace Kellys hanging around Beverly Hills these days. Instead, they are turning to Australia and Britain for more natural-looking talent, according to the NYT
Hopefully, this new attitude toward aging and beauty spells a bright future for women in Hollywood. Just last week, Sharon Osborne
told the Today
show's Matt Lauer that she's having her breast implants removed. Still, what does it mean for the Montag ilk who have passed the point of no return? As NYT
notes, the reality star has recently landed a couple movie roles—both poking fun at plastic surgery victims. Guess that's better than nothing?
