(Getty Images)In the entertainment industry, it's relatively rare for one celebrity to publicly ridicule another for personal reasons — mainly because it's unprofessional, rude, and really tacky. This is why it's so very weird that pop singer Rita Ora has been on the receiving end of overt vitriol so many times, most recently at the hands of X Factor winner James Arthur.
Arthur, who was rumored to have dated Ora once upon a time, made a couple of references to the platinum-haired singer in an extended freestyle on BBC Radio 1 that aired over the weekend. And they were not very nice.
"I'm giving 10 million f**ks less than Rita does and that's a lot of f**ks, yeah that's a lot of f**ks," Arthur rapped. He also delivered the line "Some people's Oras and demeanors can deceive us, but what they really want is a piece of your penis" (it's possible he meant "auras" and not "Oras," but hey).
Arthur tried to argue that he meant the "f**ks" line as a compliment, telling the Mirror, "She's a mate and I meant that I'd like to give less of a f**k than she does." But Arthur has dissed Ora before, as many a British publication
has noted. Last month, he explained that he felt insecure after his experience with Ora.
"[I] saw Rita Ora out with me one night and then coming out of a club with David Beckham’s best friend the other night," he recalled. "I was like, 'Oh, f**k you then.' A lot of attractive women are d**kheads."
Ora, 22, had her first brush with a scorned ex almost a year ago, when Rob Kardashian had a complete Twitter breakdown and posted the following tweets. While he never called Rita out by name, he later admitted he wrote the tweets specifically to make her hate him.
Earlier this year, Nick Jonas raised some eyebrows when he called Rita out by name
in the Jonas Brothers' song "What Do I Mean to You." The song includes the following line: "No need for water, Rita / You got the wine / Searching for diamonds / When I gave you the mine."
