Here's the First Picture of Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Director Zack Snyder tweeted the picture with the phrase, "Unite the Seven."

The first picture of Jason Momoa as the new Aquaman arrived Thursday night, and just as promised by director Zack Snyder, he looks pretty badass. Snyder, who's currently working on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, posted the picture to Twitter imposed with the message, "Unite the Seven."

We're not sure what that phrase means, but it could refer to the Seven Seas or the seven superheroes who will be brought together in the eventual Justice League movie: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern. Snyder has previously let DC comics fans know the DC Cinematic Universe will distinguish itself from Marvel's mega-franchise by going for a darker, more serious tone. So this truly will be Khal Drogo rising from the sea.

Aquaman will be appearing in the Batman v Superman movie, but we don't know if that'll just be a cameo or if he'll have a meaningful role. Rumor has it Aquaman's story will really be fleshed out in later movies, which will reveal his kingdom was hit hard by the World Engine used by General Zod in Man of Steel.
