Guess who's returning to CBS?

Jennifer Esposito is taking another crack at procedural dramas with her new stint on NCIS. The Blue Bloods alum has been cast as a series regular for Season 14 on TV's most-watched drama. That's exciting news, indeed! Esposito will be playing the role of Special Agent Alexandra “Alex” Quinn — a well-experienced NCIS agent who served as an instructor at the Law Enforcement Training Center after bidding farewell to field work. Quinn is eventually lured back into the field by Gibbs (Mark Harmon) who wants her to join his team because she's a quick-witted, intelligent, and immensely talented federal agent.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Jennifer Esposito joining us for Season 14,” said executive producer Gary Glasberg in a statement. “She embodies everything that we hoped for in the character of Quinn and we can’t wait to have her come be a part of our team.”

Esposito's casting is the latest significant change made for Season 14 of NCIS. As previously reported, Wilmer Valderrama is also set as a series regular for the forthcoming season. Their casting comes at the heels of Michael Weatherly's departure after spending 13 years on the show. Duane Henry, who guest-starred as MI6 Clayton Reeves in the final two episodes of last season, has also been promoted as a series regular.

Sarah Clarke, who joined the CBS juggernaut just last season, will be not be reprising her recurring role as Special Agent Tess Monroe.

NCIS returns Tuesday, September 20th at 8/7c on CBS.
