Jennifer Jones, 'Song of Bernadette' Actres, Passes Away at 90

Jennifer Jones, the 1943 Oscar winner for her work in The Song of Bernadette, has passed away today, December 17, 2009 at the age of 90. Jones was also an active philanthropist, who helped ove see the Frank Gehry-led renovation of the Norton Simon Art Musuem.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jones led a long and storied life. Besides The Song of Bernadette, she also appeared in such films as Duel in the Sun, Since You Went Away, and Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing.

She last appeared in the classic disaster film, The Towering Inferno, in 1974. She was married noted industrialist Norton Simon, as well as previous marriages to producer David O. Selznick and Robert Walker.
