Jessica Ann Simpson (born July 10, 1980) is an American singer, actress, and television personality. Simpson was born in Abilene, Texas. She was signed to Columbia Records while still in high school, after record executive Tommy Mottola heard her sing. In 2002, Simpson married Nick Lachey, and filming of their reality TV show commenced. The last season aired in 2004, and the couple divorced in 2006. Her current singing credits include "The Man Who Sued My Life," "Unsung" and "Handsome Boys."
