On the substantial list of things we never thought we'd see, an epic battle of the sabers between "Sexiest Man Alive" David Beckham and Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor John Boyega was certainly one of them. Now, here we stand: both corrected and gleeful.
During a guest visit on Friday's The Graham Norton Show, the host brought up Beckham's role in upcoming Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur, starring Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam. After learning that the soccer pro had received sword training for the film, Boyega was more than ready to show him what's what.
Beckham with his "Manchester red" sword, Boyega with his purple, the gentlemen engaged in a brief meeting of the sabers. It was a much politer battle than one would have assumed, but hey, gentlemen.
Also on the show were fellow Star Wars actresses Carrie Fisher and Daisy Ridley, while singer Kylie Minogue performed. Ridley even revealed that she had to keep her role on the show secret for an exasperating three months; the woman's got self control.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in theaters now.
