Since the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Internet has been abuzz with the possibility of a romantic link between two of the male leads, X-wing pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and former Stormtrooper, Finn (John Boyega). The rumors were sparked after Isaac, Boyega, and Daisy Ridley sat down on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to chat about whether or not any of the film's characters were romantically entwined somehow. Of course, Isaac had a little something to say about that:
"I think it's a very subtle romance that's happening," he said. "You have to just look very closely. You have to watch it a few times to see the little hints but, there was. At least, I was playing romance."
Okay, so clearly Isaac is referring to a romance with Finn, right? RIGHT?! I mean, look at these two cuties. Look at Poe's tantalizing lip bite. Game on, Internet.
Yeah, we'd ship them. But wait, what's that? Poe and Finn aren't gay lovers somehow destined to rule the galaxy, one tender embrace at a time? What in Chewbacca's beard?!
Man, what a buzzkill. But like a beat up, brown leather bomber jacket, hope is not lost.
Somehow, some way #StormPilot (#FiPoe?) will live.
