(Getty Images)more pics » John McCain , Republican front-runner for the Presidential election, is apparently going to be the star of a children's book. McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, will pen the book.

"I am truly excited about the opportunity to write a children's book about my father," Meghan said in a statement released by her publisher Wednesday. The book will be published by Simon & Schuster, and is set to be released the first week of September, right around the time of the Republican national convention.

The book will give children a chance to read about McCain's lifetime experiences, and the events that led to his current bid for the presidency of the United States. We're guessing the book will skip over the defining points of his life, such as the graphic details of his stint as a prisoner of war and how he left his crippled wife and mother of his child to play the field.

But really, what kid wants to read about that stuff anyways?
