A Future in Fashion for Johnny Weir?

Weir enjoys designing his own skating costumes.
Figure skater Johnny Weir did not take a medal at this year's Winter Olympics, but that doesn't mean he'll be out of the spotlight for too long. The 25-year-old is honest about the physical limitations an athlete faces as he ages, so he's already planning his next move: fashion.

Weir, who designed many of his skating costumes with designer Stephanie Handler, told Yahoo! Sports, "I want to create art more than anything and the way I want to do it is through fashion. I want to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and really learn the basics of fashion from the ground up."

"I want to create things while I have time on earth, and the art of costume and culture has always inspired me. I think being in the public eye can only help me launch into the world of fashion."

Weir fans can catch more of him on the Sundance channel's series Be Good Johnny Weir, which airs Monday nights.
