One less animal is headed to slaughter, thanks to former Daily Show host Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey.
When a terrified bull managed to break out of the truck transporting him to a local slaughterhouse, his valiant bid for liberation drew eyes.
Instead of heading back where he'd come from or demonstrating aggression, the Angus bull hightailed it to the closest patch of greenery, the lawn of York College. There, NYPD caught up with him, tranquilized him, and transferred the terrified animal to Brooklyn's Animal Care Center.
Lucky for Frank Lee — the name he has now earned, after a famous Alcatraz prison escapee — all the hullabaloo drew in local animal advocacy group Farm Sanctuary, who contacted Tracey. Being a staunch animal advocate and the author of Do Unto Animals: A Friendly Guide to How Animals Live, and How We Can Make Their Lives Better, she and Jon worked with the group to get Frank safely sheltered.
Now, Frank looks to be enjoying his time on the pasture. Here he is below, eating hay straight from Jon's hands.
"Everybody likes hay," he can be heard saying. "Everybody."
