Karen Gillian looked dazzling last night at the 2010
Glamour Awards. Karen plays Amy Pond opposite The Doctor in the British sci-fi revival hit,
Doctor Who. She was also in a horror film this year called,
Outcast.
The 2010
Glamour Awards were held at Berkeley Square in London on June 8th. Glamour magazine is a very successful publication that was founded in 1939 and originally called
Glamour Hollywood. Conde Nast is the publisher and, in addition to the USA version, the glossy periodical appears in UK, Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Greece, Poland, South Africa, Hungary, Romania (the latest addition), The Netherlands, and in a Latin American. There is also an Australian version in the works.
Glamour's "Woman of the Year Awards" is an annual event in which they recognize excellent women in the public eye. In 2008, two Yemeni women won the award: a 10 year-old divorcee called Nujood Ali and the lawyer who handled her case. This year, the award went to pop singer
Cheryl Cole.
